Surging Demand for Galaxy Z Fold 8 Causes Major Shipping Delays in the US

Unexpectedly high demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is overwhelming Samsung's distribution system, forcing the company to push US delivery dates into September and even October.

While Samsung initially planned a simultaneous August 12 rollout for its new foldable trio—the Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8—the US market is currently experiencing widespread shipping delays. According to Android Headlines, the standard Z Fold 8 model has garnered overwhelming interest, leading to supply shortages across multiple storage and color options.

A quick look at Samsung's US online store reveals that estimated delivery dates are slipping depending on the specific variant. For instance, the 256GB Graphite model has been pushed to September 4, while the 512GB version is delayed until August 28; only the 1TB option remains on schedule. The Cream model is seeing similar setbacks, with both the 256GB and 512GB versions pushed into September. Demand for the Lavender variant seems slightly cooler, though the 512GB model is still facing a minor delay. Most notably, the 1TB Pistachio Green—a Samsung.com exclusive—has seen its estimated delivery pushed all the way to October.

These extended wait times have quickly become a hot topic across tech communities. On Reddit, one user shared that after ordering a 256GB Graphite Z Fold 8 just two days ago, the system showed an expected delivery date of October 2.

In reality, this supply shortage isn't entirely surprising. Following their July 22 unveiling, Samsung's new foldable lineup shattered pre-order records in South Korea, with the standard Z Fold 8 accounting for the lion's share of those orders.

While this soaring demand is a highly positive signal for sales, it places immense pressure on Samsung's logistics. For now, eager buyers in the US will either have to brace for a long wait or settle for whatever colors are still in stock.
